Shadowrun on the Sega Genesis is a role-playing game set in the cyberpunk-fantasy world of the Shadowrun tabletop setting, where magic has returned to a near-future world of corporations, elves, orks and cybernetic implants. You play a shadowrunner taking on illegal jobs in a sprawling city, viewed from an overhead isometric perspective. Work comes from contacts and fixers, and you build your character by spending earned karma on skills, buying weapons and cyberware, and hiring other runners to come along on jobs. Combat plays out in real time on the streets, while separate sequences let you jack into the Matrix to hack computer systems, dodge security programs and pull data. Between runs you deal with fences, doctors and informants, following a story of murder and corporate conspiracy through Seattle's underworld.
