Based on the big blue superhero from the comics and animated series, The Tick is a side-scrolling beat 'em up for the Sega Genesis. You play as the Tick himself, punching, kicking and grappling your way through waves of henchmen and oversized villains across urban and industrial stages. The Tick's bulk is central to the combat: he can grab enemies and throw them, deliver heavy blows, and take a lot of punishment before going down. Levels mix straightforward brawling with platforming sections and boss fights against costumed antagonists, and pickups scattered along the way restore health. The presentation leans on the property's absurd humour, with cartoonish sprites, exaggerated animation and comic-book style text. Progress is linear, working left to right through each stage toward the confrontation at the end.
