Triple Play Gold is a Sega Genesis release in EA Sports' baseball line. Games play from a view behind the pitcher and batter that shifts to a field camera when the ball is put in play. Hitting relies on swing timing and directional input, while pitching asks you to choose a pitch type and guide its location before delivery. Fielding gives you control of the player nearest the ball, with base throws mapped to the controller buttons and runners advanced or sent back manually. You can play one-off exhibition games, run through a season with tracked statistics and standings, or contest the playoffs, adjusting lineups and rotations along the way. Sprite-based players, stadium crowds and organ music round out the presentation, and two players can play together.
