Tyrants: Fight Through Time is a real-time strategy game for the Sega Genesis, released in other territories under the title Mega-lo-Mania. You take the role of a god-like commander overseeing small islands from above, assigning your population to tasks rather than controlling units directly. Manpower is split between researching new technology, mining resources, building defences and forming armies. As you win territory, the game advances through successive historical eras, with weapons progressing from sticks and rocks toward increasingly advanced armaments. Rival commanders compete for the same islands, expanding and attacking in real time, so you must balance long-term research against immediate defence. Sectors are chosen from a map screen, and each one presents a different arrangement of terrain and opponents.
