Viewpoint is an isometric shoot-'em-up. Instead of scrolling straight up or sideways, the action moves along a diagonal plane, so you gauge enemy fire and gaps in formations at an angle. You pilot a small craft, collecting power-ups that strengthen your shot and add trailing options, with a limited supply of bombs for emergencies. Levels feature geometric and wireframe environments alongside organic enemy designs, and each ends with a large boss that takes up much of the screen. The perspective makes positioning and depth judgment a central part of play, since shots and hazards travel through the same three-dimensional space your ship occupies. The game began in arcades on Neo Geo hardware before being converted to home systems, including this Genesis version.
