Wheel of Fortune on the Sega Genesis adapts the television word game to a cartridge format. Up to three contestants take turns spinning the wheel, guessing consonants and buying vowels while trying to be the one who solves each hidden phrase. Categories give a hint at the answer, and wedges like Bankrupt and Lose a Turn can end a strong run in a single spin. Round winners advance to a bonus puzzle with limited letters revealed and a short window to answer. The board, wheel and scoring are all handled on screen, with players entering letters through the controller. Computer opponents can fill in when fewer people are playing, making it workable either solo or as a pass-the-pad party game.
